About the Tour


Sunday, October 8

• The adventure begins!
• Overnight stay in South Bend, IN

Monday, October 9 (B,D)

• Meet up with fellow passengers from Edgerton Travel and begin traveling east, with stops for rest and lunch
• Continue to New York and Niagara Falls, our stop for tonight. Our hotel is the closest to the Falls, and our tour "kick-off" supper will be at a nearby restaurant

Tuesday, October 10 (B)

• After breakfast, drive through up-state New York and into Vermont, the "Green Mountain State"
• Visit the New England Maple Museum in Rutland
• At your leisure, enjoy dinner on your own this evening

Wednesday, October 11 (B,D)

• Today you will visit the Vermont Marble Exhibit and enjoy free time for lunch in the quaint village of Woodstock
• Tour the boyhood home of President Coolidge
• Travel this afternoon to New Hampshire, and overnight in Waterville Valley

Thursday, October 12 (B,D)

• This will be a beautiful and relaxing day. Sights will include the Franconia Notch Visitors Center, and a drive along the Kancamagus Highway
• There will be time for lunch on your own and shopping in North Conway
• A highlight today will be the Loon Gondola in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest
• Return to Waterville Valley for dinner

Friday, October 13 (B,D)

• Travel through the beautiful lakes region of New Hampshire to the southern Maine seacoast
• Lunch on your own at Dock Square in Kennebunkport
• Continue to Portland, Maine for a city tour, including a stop at Portland Head Light
• Overnight the next two (2) nights at the Hampton Inn in South Portland, ME

Saturday, October 14 (B,L)

• After breakfast, you're off to Boothbay Harbor for a cruise past beautiful vacation homes, lighthouses, small islands and seals out on the ledges
• Enjoy some free time to explore the waterfront
• Don your souvenir lobster hat when you have your traditional Maine Lobster Luncheon (alternate menu available)
• Tour the Maine Maritime Museum on the banks of the Kennebec River
• Dinner on your own this evening near the hotel

Sunday, October 15 (B,D)

• Travel to Massachusetts to Old Sturbridge Village, a re-creation of a rural New England town
• Enjoy free time exploring this community of the 1830s
• Dinner in historic West Brookfield, MA at the Salem Cross Inn, a truly unique establishment
• Overnight in Sturbridge, MA

Monday, October 16 (B)

• Make the short drive to the Mark Twain House and Museum
• Begin our return trip to Indiana
• Overnight in Lewisburg, PA

Tuesday, October 17 (B)

• Continue to South Bend, IN

Wednesday, October 18 (B)

• We journey to our Iowa departure cities with lots of new photos and great memories
