Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken Breasts


  1. 6 -10 chicken breasts
  2. 1⁄2 cup water
  3. 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  4. 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
  5. 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder


  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot, Mix water and spices together and pour over the chicken.
  2. Cover slow cooker and cook chicken on low for 4-8 hours. (When I used 4 lbs. of chicken, it took about 6 hours. The time will depend on the amount of the chicken and your slow cooker.)
  3. Remove chicken breasts, shred or pull the meat from bones, removing skin.
  4. Place meat in individual freezer bags or containers and freeze until needed for recipes.

Tip: If you use boneless/skinless chicken breast, you will need to reduce cooking time and add 1/4 cup of additional water.
