Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (21 oz.) can of blueberry pie filling
- ----------------------------------------------------
- Powdered Sugar Frosting
- -------------------------------------
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then soften 1 cup of butter in a bowl. When the butter is softened, mix in 1 3/4 cups of sugar. Then mix in 4 eggs. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla. In a separate bowl mix together the dry ingredients: 3 cups of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Then slowly mix it together with the sugar mixture. Spread it in a greased 11"x15" inch jelly roll pan or a shallow baking pan. Spoon 1 can of blueberry pie filling on top of the batter. Bake for 40 minutes. While the bars are still warm, drizzle them with powdered sugar frosting.
- To make this frosting, you need to combine 1 tablespoon of butter, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla in a pan on the stove and heat until the butter is melted. Then in a bowl place the 2 cups of powdered sugar and slowly add the warm liquid to the powdered sugar one teaspoon at a time. This recipe makes quite a bit of frosting so you may have some left over.
